Can I use any interactive table in my restaurant?

No, not every interactive table is suitable for an effective business. The answer is related to the technology on which an interactive table is based. First, a truly interactive table for restaurants should support at least 200 simultaneous touches (Multi-Touch), due to the fact that, on average, there can be 4 people seated at a given table, which means at least 200 touches can be simultaneously happening at anytime!

Other technologies

Infrared
touch frame

Today, interactive tables that are based on IR technologies (frame or lasers) are the most popular solution. They perform reasonably well but it’s impractical to use them in a restaurant setting for several reasons. The table frame protrude from the top of the table surface along the entire perimeter, giving a “bulky” feel to the table and making guests feel uncomfortable. The frame would also increase the risk of spilled drinks. Spillage can easily result in hardware damage.

Capacitive multi-touch

The second most popular technology is generally the capacitive MT (also widely used in modern smart phones and tablet PCs). In this case there is no frame, and so the table surface can be sufficiently smooth and flat. The difficulty with capacitive MT is that it can only be used on a small size screen, which makes it impractical for even a smaller 2 person table.

Optical Projection technology

The next technology available is OPT (similar to Microsoft Surface). The main disadvantage here is the requisite large box projector and camera, which creates space issues as well as general guest discomfort when seated.

The fourth option is interactive film, which can be placed on the rear side of the table. Disadvantages are a limited number of simultaneous touches that can be effectively tracked (up to 20), and a technical requirement making it necessary to be placed at least 1.5 cm below the table surface. This of course would shift the screen below the table top significantly, forcing guests to peer down deep to “look inside” the table.

The Result.
Own moulti-touch sensor

After having scrupulously analyzed all the above mentioned technologies, IRT technology has finally developed interactive tables that provide flat surfaces made from industrial glass, which provides additional breakage and spilled water protection. The picture is displayed directly “on” the glass, making this a true interactive surface, as well as providing both sharp crispness and hi-def quality.

Diamond
glass

The specially designed and manufactured glass provides crisp image resolution and its unique transparency prevents any annoying screen glare. It is super-strong, both completely water and shock-proof and protects your display from any potential damage.

Gestures
sensor

In addition to recognition of touch and hand shapes, IRT technology can register presence, size and shapes of any other objects you place on our interactive table. Endless possibilities for novel applications!

Unlimited
multi-touch
sensor

The unique Touch Technology supports an unlimited number of touches. It will perform flawlessly even when every single guest seated at the table is enthusiastically exploring all the hands-on possibilities. Touch Technology allows for enjoyment of IRT technology without limits!

Proximity
sensor

Our Touch Technology instantly distinguishes the subtle differences between every hand and every object placed on the table top then effortlessly delivers the most innovative method of communication with your interactive table.

Retina
display

IRT technology uses only ultra-high resolution 4K Ultra HD display with 3840 x 2160 pixels. It has 4X more pixels than the full HD TV uses in many homes. That’s why the IRT display is so incredibly sharp as well as enormously pleasing to the eyes.

Face/Hand Recognition

The unique sensor technology can “see” not only single touches but even recognize the shapes of your hands.

Object Recognition

Besides touch and hand shapes IRT technology can register presence, size and shapes of any other objects you place on our interactive table. Endless possibilities for novel applications!

Pressure control

Thanks to the unique, intuitive nature of the sensor it can also register the pressure levels of finger touches. This creates new tools for future software development.

The best design.
For the best performance

Our technology supports an unlimited number of touches. It will keep working even if every single visitor sitting at the table puts his hands on the surface.
